A Makers
Insight

As a maker, part of my creative process is being inspired by all the colors and textures around me. I’m a visual person, so anything from the veins in a leaf to a beautiful marble table top, help inspire my ideas for new pieces. I am fond of bright and bold colors, but also like to work with neutral tones.

My medium of choice is Aqua Resin. Aqua Resin is a water-based composite system with an easy 3-1 ratio that cures in about an hour. It’s light weight yet durable, strong, and easy to clean up with just soap and water. From my personal experiences with other materials and through some trial error, I found that Aqua Resin is the most versatile and forgiving composite. Aqua Resin allows me to practice with a variety of techniques to achieve different looks and textures for my pieces.

When working with certain types of materials, there are a few things I like to consider: what the material is made of, how easy it is to work with, and how it impacts the environment. I feel reassured that people who have my pieces know that the pieces are made with a material that is sustainably produced, eco friendly, and free from volatile organic compounds.

If you’re a maker and interested in trying it out, Aqua Resin provides a trial kit with all the materials you’ll need to get started.
